The Faculty is located in Building 1. The Dean's Office is located in Room 330.

The Faculty trains students on the speciality 010400 "Physics" giving two qualifications: "Physicist. Teacher" and "Physicist".

The specializations of the speciality "Physics" are:

• "Theoretical Physics";
• "Optics and Spectroscopy";
• "Physical Material Study";
• "Physical (and Technical) Informatics";
• "Methods of Teaching Physics".

Beside students the Faculty trains post-graduates on 3 specialities.

The Faculty includes 3 computer classrooms connected to Internet, 12 educational and 8 scientific laboratories.

Activities of graduates from the Physical Faculty are directed to:

• experimental research of physical processes at different levels of structural organization of the matter;
• study, analysis of effects and phenomena, prognostication of new physical conformities to natural laws on the basis of modern theoretical conceptions, mathematical and computer methods;
• development of devices on the basis of new materials and physical principles.

The spheres of the specialists' professional activities are scientific research institutes, laboratories, design and project offices and firms, industrial enterprises and associations.

Graduates with the qualification "Physicist. Teacher" can work at educational institutions of every level.
