The purpose of the Faculty functioning is to provide the proper quality of training specialists on Physical Training and Sports by means of introduction of the state standard higher education on the speciality "022300 - Physical Training and Sports" into practice.

Training specialists is provided on the speciality "022300 - Physical Training and Sports" giving the qualification "Specialist on Physical Training and Sports". The qualification "Teacher" is given additionally.

The tasks of the Faculty activities are:

• approvement of the curricula of its specialities and directions of training;
• control over the students' current progress and discipline in studies and results of examination sessions;
• organization of the students' scientific research;
• providing effective work of gym-halls, the rest base "Podyakovo", shooting-gallery, chess club, club of water tourism;
• vocational guidance, employment of its graduates;
• educational work with students including this in the hostels.

The main direction of its scientific activities is scientific pedagogical fundamentals of physical training children and youth.

It is planned to open post-graduate courses on the speciality "13-00-04 - Theory and Methods of Physical and Sports Training and Recreation Physical Training".

Peculiarities of entrance to the Faculty
For successful entrance one should have the sufficiently high level of overall physical preparedness, theoretical knowledge on the disciplines "Biology" and "Russian Language".

The advantage of education at the Faculty
Graduates from different sports schools for children and youth aim to get a job bound up with physical training and sports as a specialist (including this on a definite kind of sports), a teacher of wide profile at the classical university.
